Just as I was thinking “what title will I put on this post?”  I looked up at the TV. We’re watching NCIS and at that very moment, the camera rolled over to a corpse cut open on the autopsy table. Unngghhhh.  Yuck.

WOW! Andre’s been off work for 5 weeks already! It’s been delightful.  I also think it has totally served the purpose for our family.  Andre and Warren have been bonding big time, and of course we’re loving live with Xavier. Also, I’ve seen Andre grow in leaps and bounds as a dad — and he was already an awesome dad!  Fun, eh?

In this past week or two, we’ve been spending most of our days slowly getting around to our tasks for the day.  We’ve learned that everything goes better if we make our morning cup of coffee while it is still called “morning.”  Apparently our caffeine addiction is as strong as ever. Many of our days have been taken up with Christmas preparations and visitng with friends.  It’s incredibly lovely, and though sometimes we feel busy, it’s really just because both Andre and I have completely lost touch with what it’s like to actually be busy.

Some details?  Let’s see…WELL.  We’ve decided to go to France and NOT come home pregnant.  Did I already say that?  Anyways, we’ll start working on that in the New Year. The trip to France is mostly (if not all) thanks to the amazing efforts of Andre’s family, and I’m really amazed by the ways they’re helping us do this.

Xavier has been growing in leaps and bounds. Today I put away his first little pile of clothes that no longer fit.  Plus, he’s moved up a diaper size.  We could practically watch him growing a couple of days ago. The massive cluster feed was a big clue, too.

OH! And Warren started using more words again! For a while there, he stopped saying the words he already used – like Mom, Dad, thank you, yogurt, banana… and was just talking in gibberish.  But this week, we’ve heard all sorts of new words and the old friends are back.  We’re glad for it, because we really missed the “thank yous”.  Today,  Andre had the joy of getting Warren out of bed. Warren held his soother out to Andre and said “soother.”  Then he held  out his glow worm to Andre and said “glow worm.”  Then he let Andre take him out of the crib. I wish I had seen that!

We’re looking forward to all of the family visits this week and next.  I love Christmas and I think this year will be ultra fun with Quentin and Warren.
